CLABIT is very proud to introduce you a new maker…let’s have a talk with DaTata – illustrator and graphic designer. Mums & Dads…you will definitely love her gift ideas for babies and children!
We all wonder who DaTata is…it’s time to reveal your true identity!
(laughs) DaTata – better said Angelica Giordano – is a person who loves to walk through her fantasy worlds. The name DaTata is a word play. I was looking for a name which could represent myself and my artistic work. Some years ago I was in the kitchen with my brother, I was drawing. Suddenly he suggested my future brand name: DaTata. Sergio used to call me Tata when he was a child…that’s how DaTata Graphic was born!
Which is your educational training? How have you decided to be a graphic designer?
Well, since I was a child I have always loved all art forms. I used to draw Disney characters and since then I have never stopped! I have attended the art high school of my city and it was there where I learned about Adobe…love at first sight! My teachers have had a great and positive influence on my life.
Baby & Kids gift ideas, Christening & Naming favours, many different types of invitations and new products on the way! Any previews?
I am sorry but I can tell you any details but it is true…new products – wedding invitations and more – are on the way! Personalised paper bookmarks as Christening Favours are now available on clabit.it I am very proud to have designed this product! Three worlds inspired my illustrations: the sea world, the fantasy world and the baby’s world.
CLABIT firmly believes in teamwork and I had the great opportunity to join this team. The Christening (or Naming) favours were designed together with the CLABIT founders and the Maestro Amato Bontempo – Bontempo Ceramiche dal 1862. The ceramic magnets are completely handmade and handpainted here in Italy, available in many shapes – hobby horse, butterfly, heart, fish, and more. I am very proud to be part of this team!
CLABIT is a marketplace where you can find Italian handmade and personalised gift ideas. Your products cannot be properly considered as handmade…
The definition of Graphic design and handmade (apparently) have nothing in common….but it is not completely true! I always use a pencil and paper for my art projects. When the project is ready, I use my graphic tablet. As you can see there is a strict relationship between the concept of handmade and graphic design.
How do you nurture your creativity?
My everyday life, people I talk to, places I visit and Nature positively influence my creativity. Moreover, I love taking pictures.
Can you tell us anything about the new products you are drawing?
It’s a secret! Follow CLABIT on Facebook and you will see new wedding gift ideas! 🙂
